Summary: Christmas is a time of hope and love, but with a guarded heart Ethan Reed refuses to let anyone get close. Until he meets Trevor Hayes…
Doctor Ethan Reed’s life revolves around the hospital and his patients. Nothing will deter his commitment to his job; not even his new fellow, Trevor Hayes. Ethan is instantly attracted to the handsome doctor and the desire he feels isn’t one-sided. Sparks fly, but a guarded Ethan shoves Trevor away, not realizing that what he really wants for Christmas is to be loved and regain the hope he’s lost. Can Trevor get through to him or will Ethan spend another Christmas alone?
Review: Ethan is a pediatrician who works very hard to not only medically treat the children under his care, but to make sure that they are as comfortable and happy as possible, reassuring and calm. You wouldn’t know that he had his heart stomped on and his career nearly lost at one point. Well, if you are Trevor you’d know – despite an instant spark Ethan is having none of getting to know Trevor. He’s lovely to everyone else but gruff, short and unsmiling to Trevor. In fact, he is downright cruel and punishing to Trevor.
There is some suspension of belief required here, because I felt no matter how attracted Trevor was to Ethan, was he going to put his fellowship in jeopardy after Ethan rebuffs him?
I couldn’t wait for Ethan to start groveling, because he so deserved to. He does it well!
Sweet and fluffy holiday. Yes, you have to believe in insta-love, but it’s holiday! When better to fall in love at first sight?
