Sequel to The Queen & the Homo Jock King
Together with their families and friends, Paul Auster and Vincent Taylor request the honor of your company at the celebration of their marriage.
Paul Auster and Vince Taylor just want to have a simple wedding. Really, is that too much to ask?
As the big day approaches, they struggle to keep everything from spiraling out of control. From meddling friends and intrusive family, to a certain drag queen’s idea as to what constitutes a normal bachelor party, Paul and Vince have their work cut out for them.
I think this might actually be my favorite of the series! Full disclosure, I never read book one, Tell Me It’s Real, where Paul and Vince meet. Book 2 was cute and funny, but also a bit annoying, and while I liked Paul and Vince well enough I did not feel the need to go back to their story.
I started by listening to this only one or two chapters at a time. It’s very funny, but as with the entire series, it is also a bit much. The excessive banter is way over-the-top. I do think that the narration by Michael Lesley adds so much to this series. It is completely ridiculous, as it should be.
The scene right before the wedding got a bit sappy. And I always find some of the stuff with the parents and grandma to be unbearably unrealistic and not necessary. But overall it was adorable and absurd and very funny. I’m not gonna lie, I squeed during the epilogue. If the next book were available I would get the audio right this second. It’s about damn time Cory got his/her love story!
