There is something annoying about this book for me and I’m not sure what exactly it was. I can’t decide if it was the fact that once Julian and Ryan hook up, Ryan says “Julian” or “Jules” ad nauseum. That could have been it. Or, it could have been that the blurb is definitely misleading, in that this is a paranormal book, not a contemporary (which is what I thought it was). … Continue reading
This historical set in the early war time of 1940’s makes for an exciting read when it comes to the battle and the charming nature of the high-flier Jack. With its detailed descriptions and the vast array of characters it is never dull and manages to create anticipation even in the times of peace.
Arthur Edward ‘Jack’ Ratigan is a bomber pilot with a cocky attitude, charming personality and a disarming … Continue reading
Reading this book was like falling down the rabbit hole. After reading Water Waltz, I was expecting a lot from this book but I was disappointed. Cole Saunders is a shy and socially withdrawn reporter who is assigned to interview the fairly famous artist, Lucien Thomas. Lucien is a total recluse who lives in a world of his own making. Cole is anxious to do the interview but Lucien is overly evasive almost … Continue reading
Told in the first person POV of David, Letting Go is a bittersweet story of loss and gain. David is a pre-med student, taking care of a terminally ill father. He is also working and putting himself through college, and is barely keeping himself together. He idolizes his father, and watching this is tearing David apart. “My father was dying, and at twenty years old, I had never felt more … Continue reading
Hey, Baby by L.M. Brown 4.5
This was my absolute favorite of the three stories in this anthology. Nick is a nice guy who works as a taxi driver, who is currently without a boyfriend. What he does have is a fabulous best friend named Mel (female) and an answering machine that is currently accepting messages from a wrong number. Connor thinks he is leaving messages for his long-distance boyfriend, Alan, … Continue reading
This story is the first of a three book series by two great authors. We get another spin on the werewolf so beware for something very different. Rob goes into a non-wolf dance club looking to pick up a one-night stand. Wolves are an open part of society and Rob is a cop assigned to human/wolf relations. Rob picks up a hot, younger, … Continue reading
Anike is an artist hired by the prince to visually record every possible moment of the visit by ambassadors of a neighboring country of Marana. Anike finds the brothers to be fascinating since he has never seen their race, with long faces with sharply slanted features, their oval irises and slightly iridescent skin. This book had so much unrealized potential. It is very short and … Continue reading
Ben is a 43-year-old police captain who is only looking for easy, commitment free sex, often with rent boys. He was married to an extremely wealthy yet terribly cold woman but had been recently widowed when his wife was killed in a traffic accident, leaving him all of her money. He gets great pleasure by paying for sex with his dead wife’s money. Cody is your typical rent … Continue reading
I must say this story just did not work for me. It had some good characters in it, but just never made me stand up and take notice. I would have to say the one thing I did take out of this book, is that well your a man or woman everyone needs a friend even on Valentine’s Day.
It was a quick read and … Continue reading
Fans of J.P. Bowie will enjoy this sexy action book. Dr. Mark Hamilton is working at a refugee clinic in Darfur, a region of Sudan.
Formerly a rich, party boy in California, Mark had to prove himself as a real man and a capable doctor. Happily helping those that are less fortunate, Mark was finally at peace until Sergeant Major Jack Caruthers turns his world upside … Continue reading
