April 2012: Kendall McKenna Author Interview

Questions straight from the Heart (we are burning to know!)

  • What made you want to become an Author?
  • Positive feedback at a young age. My teacher in the 5th and 6th grade was the same man and he’s ended up being very influential in my life. He required us to keep a daily journal. He didn’t care what we wrote, as long as we wrote something. I got tired of writing about my daily life so I started making things up. He always had positive things to say about my narrative and my creativity. Anytime there was a creative writing … Continue reading

Questions straight from the Heart (we are burning to know!)

  • What is the best book you’ve ever read?
  • That’s such a tough question, as I’ve read so many books! One that always sticks with me is Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks.

  • Are there genres or specific elements you are not a fan of reading?
  • Yes, I’m not really a fan of sci-fi.

  • How were you introduced to the m/m genre?
  • Well I haven’t written anything in the m/m genre yet, though I do have a WIP. … Continue reading

  • What is the best book you’ve ever read?
  • Now you’re asking a lot;) I don’t think I can just pick one book and say that’s the best thing ever written. In general I like angsty books, those that make me remember them for a long time after and some of my favorite authors do accomplish that on regular basis. I do like Derekica Snake’s style, the way she abuses her characters until you as a reader can’t take any more and then resolves everything so beautifully you … Continue reading

An Interview with Zach Sweets (and a giveway!)

Questions straight from the Heart (we are burning to know!)

  • What is the best book you’ve ever read?
  •

That’s a good question. I know my favorite series would be Soul Mates series by Jourdan Lane. As for a stand-alone novel, it’ll be “A Red Tainted Silence” by Carolyn Gray because the author made my heart ache while reading it. I mentioned in my review that this book is perfect for the “It Gets Better” project. J
