Blurb:(Book 2 of the Spectrum Skies series)… Return to the world of Spectrum, where nothing is sure, and humans and preternaturals live in harmony…or do they? Pascal and London are in love, but has London lost all his preconceived notions about vampires? A string of murders that look like a vampire on a rampage will test London and Pascal’s new relationship to the limit. And when London discovers more about Pascal’s lengthy and sometimes-dark history, will the information confirm all his suspicions about the real nature of vampires, or will his love for the sexy bloodsucker help him to get past his prejudice and distrust?…..
..When London drove into his parking spot at the station, he caught sight of Pascal, leaning against his fancy new car, a red electric model with a black stripe down the center. He was wearing indigo leather pants, and they hugged those muscular thighs and bubble ass to perfection. Off his broad shoulders hung a pale blue silk shirt open at the throat with a drawstring. The black boots he wore had a three-inch heel, accentuating his six-foot frame. His long, dark hair fell around his shoulders as he lowered the dark sunglasses he really didn’t need.
Delicious. The sight of Pascal made London horny as hell, even at this time of day. The vamp had a body to die for but London told himself to stay professional. They’d both agreed that they’d leave their personal life in bed, and at work it was business. Not always easy when London could make out the outline of the vampire captain’s big, hard cock. It was curled up a little and lying there perfectly against his thigh, smothered in all that leather, just waiting for his tongue.
His gaze shifted to Pascal’s face as he approached. Beauty could have been his middle name with his full lips, gorgeous blue eyes, and the nice shadow on his square jaw. London loved to nibble on that jaw. Lord, deliver me.
“Shame, shame, Captain Weaver,” Pascal clicked his tongue, his eyes sparkling like bubbly wine. London sighed when Pascal hid them again behind the glasses.
“Stop reading my mind, St-Maurice,” he muttered. “It’s annoying.”
Pascal laughed a husky laugh.
This vamp had turned him into a sex fiend.
“I think you were a sex fiend before you met me,” he murmured.
“You’ve done it again.”
“I have.” He smiled. “Please forgive me.”
London would have forgiven him anything, but in the back of his mind, he’d never lost sight of what Pascal was and his potential to resort to his baser instincts. It was exciting and dangerous.
The wind had picked up today and it blew Pascal’s silky black hair around his exquisite face. London curled his fingers up into his palms so he wouldn’t be tempted to reach out and touch the glossy strands.
Spectrum never was a comfortable place when it came to the weather. Too hot, too cold, and sometimes dusky for days. They had just come out of a dark period, but it had been stifling hot, now the cold was taking over again. Pascal was fortunate in that he didn’t feel the extremes.
They walked into the building together. “Nice car. Get a raise?” London commented, tongue in cheek.
“Nope, just feeling optimistic.”
“Oh?” London met his gaze. “And why’s that?” He smiled.
Pascal started to whistle and London burst out laughing as he climbed the stairs. “Is someone planning to get lucky tonight, St-Maurice?” He glanced over the banister as Pascal walked down the steps.
Pascal removed his sunglasses and looked up at him. “Maybe. Should I be optimistic?”
“There’s always reason to hope.” London winked, then cleared his throat. “Anymore on the…” He paused. He almost said “vampire killings” but stopped himself. Damn, he hated this awkwardness.
Pascal didn’t blink. “Fancy a tour of Nourish later?”
“Place open twenty-four hours now?” London made a face.
“Opens at supper time. Vamps gotta eat,” he cajoled and disappeared into the squad room…
