A year after the body swap that let brat Jayk and his dom, Amon, experience each other’s lives for a day, the pair is ready to be married in a small, stress-free ceremony. Things are going smoothly until they meet Jennifer and Ron Gaines-Brake—a quarrelsome couple with a laundry list of troubles whose wedding is at the same venue.

When Jayk and Amon are drawn into the other couple’s drama, their own doubts and fears about marriage start to surface. And when they accidentally switch bodies with Jennifer and Ron the day before the wedding, their simple, stress-free celebration starts looking more and more like a nightmare.

As the couples attempt to deal with each other’s families, secrets, and last minute wedding preparations, things spiral out of control. Add to the mix a missing cat, a vigilant police officer, an intimidating dildo, and a cake like no other, and it’s anybody’s guess whether the weekend will end in bells or bedlam

Jayk and Amon are getting married.  It’s a year after they switched bodies in “Wacky Wednesday” and Jayk is still his usual bratty self with little to no self-control over his impulses to lie and to have temper tantrums, especially when caught lying.  I loved the author’s descriptive word for Jayk’s inability to stop himself from lying — Amon calls Jayk an “auto-fibber”.  I may just have to use this term on some of my own family members.

The author’s sense of humor, so evident in Wacky Wednesday, is just as sharp here, if not more so.  That book doesn’t have to be read first, but it should be, to make the experience of this book so much better.

On the way to their wedding, they lose their cat at a gas station in downtown Detroit.  Jayk had been planning on using him as ring bearer and he was traumatized when he realized the cat was missing.  The cat search, and ensuing humorous craziness, is woven throughout the story.

When they arrive at the wedding facility to look over the space, they meet Jennifer and Ron Gaines-Brake, a bickering and belligerent couple who will be getting married the day after Jayk and Amon.  They run into the couple again in the hotel lobby that night and help escort a drunken Ron to the couple’s room.  In the midst of another round of bickering, just as the clock strikes midnight, someone trips and all four go down.  Two minutes later, when Amon comes to his senses, he finds himself inside of balding, tubby Ron’s body and Jayk is now in Jennifer’s. They manage to keep their heads and explain body switching to the couple, who have taken over Amon’s and Jayk’s bodies.  All decide to try to go with the flow and help one another out for the next 24 hours so they can get through this and get to the wedding day without another major problem.

The comedy and chaos that ensued for the next twenty-four hours made me laugh so hard I cried.   The best, of course, was brat Jayk inhabiting Jennifer’s body.  His reaction to having boobs in the way of his arm movements and finding out that the bump in his belly meant he was pregnant was classic.  And when he finally got brave enough to touch his clit, oh my! Having a clit was a wondrous thing in Jayk’s opinion.  He loved it so much that he did research to learn more about them. My favorite line: “Hyenas have a six-inch clitoris.  No wonder they’re always laughing.”

Quite a few things set off a brat attack that day but Amon held on to his patience and didn’t discipline Jayk while he inhabited Jackie’s body.  It was close, but he managed to restrain himself.

During this body exchange period, both Jayk and Amon examined their relationship with each other.  Both were very focused on their current domestic discipline relationship and the future changes that might occur because of being married.  The author devoted time, using both introspection and dialogue, to an explanation of domestic discipline. Among my favorite sections is Amon’s conclusion that his job was to help Jayk pinpoint areas he wanted to improve in, not things that Amon wanted to change.  He wanted to help Jayk be the person Jayk wanted to be, not to force him to be the person Amon wanted him to be.

They eventually begin to understand why they were chosen to switch with the other couple.  They see which lessons needed to be learned by each of them, individually and as a couple, and when midnight came, well…  Did they make it to their wedding? Did the other couple interfere?  Was the cat found in time? You need to read to find out, but of course our guys got a HEA in the end.  And, I am left with that warm satisfied glow that comes from reading a really wonderful story with life affirming undertones, sprinkled with a huge dose of humor.

I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in BDSM, Dom/sub, and/or domestic discipline relationships.  And, of course, to anyone who wants to read a truly upbeat, smile-inducing, “brat-tastic” tale.
