This was my very first foray into the F/F genre, and since I really like the M/M genre above all else, I was a little apprehensive. I needn’t have been, however, because the writing of Lucy Felthouse made me like the book. Heidi is a young woman, living alone in, yes, a Cottage in the Woods. Peering out her window one day, she spies a fox. Thinking the fox is hunting something, and wanting to see the animal up close, she slips out. After just a bit, however, she realizes the fox is either hurt or dead. When she decides how to help she is surprised by not a fox in her garden, but a naked woman. A hot naked woman, in Heidi’s estimation.
This story is very short, so many elements are just glossed over, and I would love to have known – why is Heidi living alone in the woods? Where did Ava come from? Was she alone always? There is a twist on the shifter (sleeping) that I loved. This is a cute, happy book, and definitely a good one for me to have started F/F with.
