Summary:  What does it feel like to belong to someone else? Body, mind, even soul? And what if the man who owns you is a dragon shifter with magic and immortality? For Wells, it means a thousand years of love, laced with danger, desire, and the freedom of the sky on Justin’s back.

But what happens when that bond is suddenly wrenched apart?

Originally published in the Mine anthology.

Review:  “The Dragon and His Knight” features an ancient dragon that can shift into human form, Justin and his servant/knight, Wells. The pair have been together for hundreds of years and are not in tune to the human worls, they visit human society once in a while and hide in a green tent when tuning the human world out? The purpose of a dragon having a servant/knight is to kee into the human world but Wells the human didn’t do a good job as Justin was not used to many things and didn’t even know the year they were in.

I question because the details into the dragon mythology was barely touched. The author introduced some interesting dragon mythology to the story but this short did not have enough length to fully detail dragons’ history. There was some conflict though I’m unsure why some of the it was introduced (a non-knight is trying to get rid on dragons but then didn’t…so why was she left alive after being thwarted the other times?)

There is shifted form sex which was pretty different. It’s an okay short story. I did wish the story was longer. With the written length, the story felt rushed and the characters did not have much depth.
