Summary: Separated and abused by the magi, twins Laine and Baine each swore to do whatever it took to break free and save the other. But when Baine arrives at the werewolf village prepared to rescue Laine and return home triumphant, he soon learns that any plan involving a dragon and a werewolf is bound to go awry.
Opinion (WARNING SPOILERS):
This story was as sweet as Finding my wolf, but less developed in terms of relationships between the main characters.
Laine is a human that was used by the magi for his strength, in their war for absolute dominance of the world. After being rescued by a pack of wolves and a few dragons, he is reluctant to believe that his luck has changed for the better.
Baine is the twin of Laine and possess the same degree of power as his brother. After being sent by his parents to rescue Laine, Baine discovers that the magi are gone and the wolf Reese and the Dragon Dean are in fact the ones that made it possible for him to see his brother alive. Now I know this is one long phrase for something which can be explained even simpler: Baine finds out the bad guys were gone and who the good guys were. Now, is it better? (I sure hope so…).
Anyways, everything seems fine, right? Well, there’s one tiny little problem. You know how a kiddie reacts when he gets a new toy, right? He keeps it with him all the time for some time. Baine is the same as the kiddie. After not seeing his brother for several years, he tends to get possessive and jealous of Reese, because he believes that he’ll lose Laine. And as Reese’s flirting wasn’t enough, Dean keeps annoying him with nicknames as pretty and shiny, insisting on Baine becoming a part of his hoard. He hasn’t yet parted with one group (his parents) that another one wants to force him in. Just how much more, can a guy take? Baine is overwhelmed and confused, and he doesn’t know anymore what to do.
When things start to appear more at ease, Baine and Laine’s parents show up, begging for sanctuary from their leader. Oh, did I mention that they tried to strip her (the leader) of her powers and position. That’s why they needed Laine so much. They make me sick.
Reese is one sweet wolfie. He is strong and he knows his weaknesses very well, especially after the magi-incident. He would do anything to ensure the protection of Laine and he shows his love through facts and actions.
Dean is a dragon, who secretly yearns for a genuine love. Yeah, I know he is portrayed as one big tough guy, but he has a big heart, ok? When he meets Baine, he knows he found his pretty. Now he just needs to be very persuasive and that is his specialty.
The final part of the story was very funny, totally worth my 2 minutes long laugh.
P.S. I mentioned firsthand why I gave 4.5 stars.
It is ok written for a light novel.
For those who want a sweet, lovable, full of humor story involving a persuasive young dragon, a tenacious wolf, and 2 emotionally scarred humans. MUST-READ FOR SOFTIES.
Overall, it was a good story that made me smile (true reason-Dean the Dragon).
