Summary: Matthew Elliot is one of LA’s best detectives. He’s been labelled the golden boy of the Fab Four; a team of four detectives who’ve closed down drug-rings all over the city. He’s smart, tough and exceptionally good at his job.

He’s also a closeted gay man.

Enter Kira Takeo Franco, the new boxing coach at the gym. Matthew can’t deny his immediate attraction to the man his fellow cops know as Frankie. But in allowing himself to fall in love with a man known to his colleagues, Matthew risks outing them both. Matt and Kira work to keep their relationship and private lives hidden from Matt’s very public life, fearing it would be detrimental to their careers.

But it’s not the other cops who Matthew should be worried about finding out his deepest, darkest secret… it’s the bad guys.

Review:    New author, brilliant book and amazing sexy characters – what more can a girl want on her weekend away? Really, I needed nothing else. Curled next to a fireplace swallowing the words and chuckling each time Croatia was mentioned, I had more than a pleasant evening, all thanks to N.R.Walker.

Mathew is a narcotics detective who’d just closed a case and got his moment of fame for it. He’s great at his job, hard working in general and a great friend. But there is one thing no one knows about him, a secret that is obvious to everyone but the oblivious the moment he meets Kira, the new boxing trainer. I’m not going to say that sparks fly, because what’s between them at first sight is way flashier than that. Try fires, lightening and earthquakes all at the same time.

Matt is confused, wanting, shocked, smitten. He desires but he’s so deep in the closet his attraction doesn’t seem realistic. But Kira is his own man and he’s feeling it too. There is no way he’s just going to let Matt walk away. And that’s pretty much how a good half of the book goes. It’s hot, but even more than that –it’s romantic. Matt and Kira are a dream when together, not that anyone would kick them out of their bed alone either. There are no conflicts, just a relationship in the works and little details that bring it all closer to our hearts.

Then comes the second part that’s heart-wrenching and tense at moments, so deep, emotional and exciting. It’s the perfect counterpart and something that will definitely make you up the rating on this book no matter what you thought of the first part.

I can only say that I loved this book. The fast paced writing, the high emotions and the engaging plot, it all worked for me wonderfully and I will definitely be on the lookout for more from N.R.Walker. You should be too.
