Summary: Drew McLean has had a run of bad luck and it’s dampened his Christmas spirit. But the last thing he expects to find for the holiday is a demon.
While strolling in the late-night snow, Drew hears screeching tires and a sad scene is awaits him around the corner. A man kneels beside a dog hit by a car, distraught and broken.
The man is Artem, a demon sent to find a pure soul. Drew matches that description to a T. The problem is Artem’s never really been good at the demon gig.
Will a little Christmas magic help them both find what they’re looking for?

Review: I really enjoyed this short story. It was a twist on A Christmas Carol to me. We had demons, good people, and animals. The conflict between a demon wanting to do what is right to them and what they are pressured to do in order to stay with the others is a timeless one. Many people are directed to do what the main person wants instead what they feel are right with the consequence being denied inclusion with their group or family.
I really enjoyed how Artem explored and experienced the world, showing us how many wonderful things there are that we take for granted. Drew also showed us that there are people in this world who care, and are willing to go beyond their own lives to help others.

Overall it was a heartwarming story with a good HEA ending. Very much enjoyed it!
