Summary: Seth Robinson manages a local kitchen boutique and has had a crush on a customer who frequents the shop. Though too shy to start up a conversation about anything other than kitchen appliances or the newest cooking gadget, Seth still hopes to catch the other’s eye. Seth has a tendency to change his hair color a lot, and when he gets purple highlights, it finally sparks a conversation between the two men.
Chris Berger runs a catering business in Bellflower and loves visiting Karlee’s Kitchen Essentials, where he can chat with the cute manager. He has a unique way of looking at the world and colors and is intrigued by Seth’s highlights.
Unfortunately, when they manage to get together, they’re both dealing with major upheavals in their lives. Will they be strong enough to work together to find their happily ever after?
Review: Seth is the manager of his best friend, Karlee’s, kitchen supply boutique and he’s been crushing big time on a caterer that comes in. He tends to act like a shy, awkward teenager when his crush comes in and it takes Karlee deciding to expand her business into cooking lessons, which will be taught by the swoon-worthy chef, to bring Seth’s crush into focus.
I loved the idea of the purple highlights and the chef, Chris, thinking of everything in terms of food colors. There tends to be a lot of detail about the ins and outs of their day and that could get a little tedious at times. Karlee is pregnant and it’s sweet the way both men care for her while they are doing the set -up of the new business expansion.
I needed a little more depth to really be able to love this but the story is angst-free and sweet. Both Seth and Chris are nice and Karlee is a great character.
