I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this wonderful story. It’s a very special gift from a talented author whose work I always appreciate. I started to make a list of the things I liked best about this story, and halfway through I realized that my list speaks for itself as a complete review. And it’s basically a gratitude list—of all those things for which I’m grateful TJ Klune applied his very fertile imagination to bring to life for these two memorable characters in what I consider the wedding of the year.
So, to TJ Klune: I’m so grateful to have met you, both virtually, and in person (at GRL), and to be among those who have been blessed with the gift of your humor in this delightful series. Thank you for bringing us this very special love story.
Among the things I’m most grateful for:
You made Paul Auster “chubby” and then you gave him Vince, the gorgeous but down-to-earth and a bit slow-on-the-uptake sweetheart of a man who is positively head over heels in love with Paul in all his chubbiness, clumsiness, shyness, and normalcy.
You made Paul’s family so outlandish, and yet so endearing, that they bring joy, laughter, and a touch of everyday to each scene. Each of his family members is both unique and priceless, and I wish very heartily that they were mine.
Bringing Sandy and Paul together as children destined to become BFFs forever. Sandy is everything Paul needs and we learned in book two that Paul is everything Sandy needs as well. Except for their men, of course. In this story, Sandy fiercely defends his friend and doesn’t allow him to torpedo his happiness with the man of his dreams. Supportive and loving, while being flamboyant and totally original, Sandy is the epitome of a best friend and is indeed the perfect match to Paul.
Thank you, TJ, for the glimpses into the Homo Jock King’s real personality and for his love of both Sandy and Helena. Having unconditional love for the prickly Sandy is a task not everyone would be up to. But you’ve done an outstanding job in providing the perfect lover for Paul’s BFF.
And it wouldn’t be a complete list if I didn’t say thank you for giving Charlie a romance. That man deserves his own love. And speaking of loves, it appears that our sweet Kori/Corey is going to get a forever mate in book four. At least I certainly hope so.
And last on my gratitude list is a huge thank you for bringing us this unique and totally awesome, memorable, and humorous wedding ceremony. I wouldn’t have expected anything less for Paul and Vince. It was everything I could hope for.
I highly recommend this story to all lovers of MM romance, and in particular, to those who can embrace the humor life has to offer. So thank you, TJ Klune, for the hours of pleasure you’ve sent my way. I needed the lift more than you’ll ever know.
