Dr. Zach’s Hot Fireman by Tamsin Baker – Romance>Contemporary
Zach has fulfilled all of his goals in life. He’s successful, wealthy, and a good person. It’s time to find the right guy, and his brother’s hot friend may be just what the doctor ordered.

Dylan loves his life as a firefighter, and when he meets the gorgeous Doctor Zach he decides that a relationship might be worth while.

But Zach isn’t used to putting his work second for anyone, and Dylan’s one night stands haven’t prepared him for the ups and downs of a real relationship. Can a hot fireman and a super sexy doctor make their crazy schedules fit each other? Or will the hazards of their jobs be the end of their happily ever after?

Be Warned: m/m sex, rimming
Zach is a doctor, has worked hard to become one, but has not found love – if only he could make the time for it! Dylan loves being a firefighter, but has never gone beyond one night stands so he has no idea how to have a relationship as he has a crazy shift schedule too. Dylan and Zach meet when Zach’s brother Simon, another firefighter and friend to Dylan, calls his brother to check out Dylan after a call where he rescued a mother, but against protocol and injured himself. You get the impression that Simon called Zach to set him up with Dylan!
The story is told from the alternating point of view of Dylan and Zach.

I liked the premise of this story – a doctor and fireman, oh, the possibilities! However, I felt that the first part of the story rushed their relationship to a serious level without giving the reader much more than their physical relationship to go on. While this is a work of fiction, that stretched thing a bit for me. However, in the second half of the book, where the two main characters faced their major conflict, you get more time of the two men together talking and getting to know one another, making it more like a relationship.

Some details I would have liked to see explored would be Dylan’s nightmares, since it came up a few times in the book, were they just related to the work he does or is it related to something else? Is there a reason he has not pursued a relationship before? There were times he was really mature, and times he came across as very young, so I guess I would have liked to know more about him as a person as a result!

There are quite a few sex scenes for the two characters, so if you like hot stories, particularly with a doctor and a fireman (and who wouldn’t?), where the doctor is a bit dominant in the bedroom, you will likely enjoy this story.
